For those of you who have been sleepin' or just plain unaware, Al Green released a new album this past Tuesday and it is Vintage Al Green. The album was produced by Roots drummer, Questlove, and I was very pleased to see that it completely maintains the soul, grittiness and overall warmth from Al Green that we're used to. Many times, older singers that come out with albums in their later years try to do something to fit the modern mold and it doesn't work, so this was definitely a pleasant surprise...The album features Anthony Hamilton, John Legend and Corrine Bailey Rae, and they all fit in great on the songs they are featured on...no laink...go buy it!
