"Playing with the new download of the iPhone software we realized that within the Google Map software not only does the phone give you directions by foot or on public transport, it also tells you when the next train is coming. The picture here shows that I’ve got 8 minutes to get out of the apartment and catch the train."

Unfortunately, this video was not able to be embed, but I do have the link for you at the bottom of this post.
Gladwell, known for his two very popular books, "The Tipping Point," and "Blink," has a new book out called, "Outliers."
This new book focuses on why and how people truly become successful and develop creative genius. In the video, he gives a thought provoking, yet funny speech interweaving Fleetwood Mac with mathematicians and Picasso with our current economic challenges related to our recession. I would recommend anybody that is either a fan of his past works, or anyone interested in learning about success and how it is created to head over to Malcolm Gladwell's Speech and watch this video....

Google to Host LIFE Magazine’s Photo Archive

Photobucket
Google has announced that they’re now hosting LIFE magazine’s massive photo archive online. Google images will now contain one of the world’s biggest photo collections, with images and etchings from the 1750’s to present day. Around 10 million images will be available, and reportedly 97% of them have never been published before. Former TIME publisher Henry Luce’s collection is included as well which contains the entire works of Life photographers Alfred Eisenstaedt, Gjon Mili and Nina Leen, the Zapruder film of the Kennedy assassination; Dahlstrom glass plates of New York from the 1880’s; and Hugo Jaeger’s images of Nazi-era Germany. Hi-res images are available for free online, and print versions can be purchased straight from Google. This initiative is part of Google’s ongoing mission to “organize all the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful”.

Johnny Henry of Laurel, Mississippi has invented a vibrating toilet seat that is designed to ‘stimulate’ us. He said that the vibrating seat will make us feel good while we are doing our business.

“I believe in thinking out of the box,” Henry said. “I wanted to create something that is a little unusual. “This invention is designed to stimulate,” he said. “It’s to make you feel good while you are there.”

Last time you were inspired to design clothes?

For Benjamin Bixby I knew I was going to be launching in Fall/ Winter. I’m a huge American football fan and what lets you know it’s fall in America is football because the leaves turn a certain colour and you start layering up to go to the game. I’m a big fan of early, early American football style, so this experience was inspired by that. And British tailoring too, which is pretty structured. You get a lot of that British tailoring with American cool.

Last time you picked up a needle and thread?

[Laughs] I can tell you this has been some of the hardest work I’ve done in the last two years. I’ve been involved in every single part of the line because I want to make sure it gets a certain identity. I’m pretty much putting my own money into it, so I’ve invested in myself.

Last time a chick changed your style up [*cough* Erykah *cough*]?

Yeah, that’s how people see it I guess, but it’s a misconception. All my friends knew what was going on, but I think at the time it looked that way. Since high school it was always about dressing up and doing your thing. Of course, becoming an entertainer gives you a bigger stage to pull off wilder and crazier things.

Last time you made a fashion faux-pas?

I’ve done that a lot of times, but it’s more costumes when I’m performing. But when I’m 80 with my grandkids, we’ll look back and laugh and see we had a good time.

Having killed it on the collabo front this year, last time you were in the studio for your own music?

I was just talking to my DJ the other night because I’m working on a solo album at the moment and I’m so excited. I just want to hear some new music from myself, but I’m not a fast writer. I envy every rapper out right now because they write so fast. Lil Wayne, T.I., Game... I wish I could have that much output. But I’m hoping it will be out the top of next year and I’m hoping it will be a rap album.

We do too...
I really pray that it’s rap because that’s what I’m feeling right now. I have a couple of titles, and a couple of concepts, but it really depends on the music. When I’m 75/ 80% done, I’ll know.

Last time your music was used to inspire an Olympic win?

Yeah, I heard Michael Phelps listens to old Outkast in the locker room. It’s always surprising when people bring up old songs because they’re so distant to me, it’s almost like another life.

Last album you listened to?

I’m listening to a lot of blues artists right now; Freddie King, BB King, Hendrix. And of course Lil Wayne is jamming, he’s got the world in the palm of his hands right now, he’s, really good. In fact, I can say he’s an outstanding rapper.

Last time you considered yourself one of the Top 5 MCs?

I like to think that I am, but I think the older I get, the more I have to hype myself up [laughs]. I get tired these days!

Reaching Your Quarter Life

Photobucket
Some friends of mine, Reesha White-Howard and Mary Cooper have written a book called,"Reaching Your Quarter Life,".The quarter-life crisis is a fairly "new" phenomena that has been emerging in the last decade. For a long time, the general mindset was that by the age of 25, you're supposed to be established, and have everything in your life figured out...but thats just not how it is for most people. The book targets its audience to twenty-something ladies, and while neither I nor Blaq are in that target lol, I still think this is something most twenty somethings and even older people can relate to...shoutout to Nina B. as well...

5 Steps For Visualization...

Photobucket
All my life I have been told to visualize things to make them happen, but not until recently have I decided to really put it into effect...here are some tips I found on the net for anyone interested....

(1) Practice
Repetition is the key to success in acquiring any new skills. You have to practice your visualization skills. The good news is the more real your visualization, the more effective you will achieve what you desire.

(2) See Yourself as Third Person

Imagine you are watching a movie in your mind. You are the lead actor or actress in this movie. You are viewing your life as a third person.

The key here is when you visualize behind your eyes; your mind treats it as a memory. Memory gets programmed into your subconscious mind and you will begin to form a belief that this memory is true.

(3) Put Emotions into Your Dream

Whatever your dream, always and always feel what you are visualizing. Of course, the emotions you attached to your visualization must be positive vibration.

Remember, thoughts alone cannot manifest your dream into reality. The formula to your prosperity = Thoughts plus Positive Emotions

(4) Increase Color and Brightness of a Wanted Scene

You can increase the color and brightness when you visualize the scene, which you have positive emotion about.

(5) Desensitize an Unwanted Scene

If a bad scene pops up, change the scene to black and white. This will help to decrease the negative emotions you feel towards the scene.

The Nirvana Baby

The Nirvana baby is back, but now at age 17, Spencer Elden talks to the media about that famous album cover and takes a new picture in the water at his current age.
Photobucket
From LiveNews:

17-year-old Spencer Elden was not even a year old when his parents dropped him into a Californian swimming pool to be captured by underwater photographer Kirk Weddle for the classic album shot.

Now, looking back on the cover, which featured the baby in natures full intention, Elden tells MTV: “It’s kind of creepy [to think] that that many people have seen me naked — I feel like I’m the world’s biggest porn star.”
