R.I.P. Baatin 1974-2009

This summer has been crazy with so many celebrity deaths. Baatin was a member of one my favorite groups, Slum Village. He was one of the few rappers, that still displayed a certain energy and flavor only seen in the early days of rap. He had a very different delivery and always stood out. He went through a lot of pain, dealing with health issues, past coma, as well as reports of schizophrenia. But, he had seemed to be getting back on his feet, even back to performing with the group at the very recent Rock The Bells tour. This is sad news, but I hope he is finally at peace.
